A drop-in center is a welcoming space where new mothers can bring their babies to meet with a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC or another lactation professional) to ask questions or address breastfeeding concerns. These centers also provide an opportunity to connect with other mothers who may be having similar experiences, offering both encouragement and community support. Drop-in centers are often hosted in hospitals and typically have an accurate scale available to track your baby’s growth and even measure milk intake during a feeding. In some cases, drop-in centers also serve as milk depot locations, where families can drop off Milk Bank–approved donor milk to be stored and transported to The Milk Bank free of charge.
